TRANSGRESSOR! This band never released any records, but they were still notable for being fronted by a young Steve Von Till, who would wind up joining Neurosis about a year or so after this. In that time, Transgressor had a lineup change and renamed themselves Peace Test, though they still played these songs. It's a shame they didn't release any records but then again Steve obviously made the right choice in joining and focusing on Neurosis. Thankfully we have these rehearsal recordings and their demo to listen to and enjoy! - DH
7 SECONDS! I'm editing this post with a current transfer of this live recording from their show at The Farm, in San Francisco. Seems like a fun set, though I know "New Wind" was a bit divisive perhaps? Among fans I mean. I know some older punks say that loved 7 Seconds up to this point, and of course some like them after New Wind as well. But regardless, we can all agree on one thing, nobody wants to hear 7 Seconds material from the 90's! Ha! To be fair, their 90's music ain't bad at all, it's just a much different vibe and sound than any of this 80's stuff so I can understand why some punks like one and not the other era of 7S. Anyhoo, I re-transferred this tape. I re-balanced the audio,. maybe it sounds better now. Hopefully it does. - DH

God damn I love INFEST. I'll never take the reunion shows for granted, because for so long the closest someone like me might get to the Infest live experience was through the few audio and video recordings of their shows that exist. Here's one that I dig hard. It came on a tape with two Infest shows, but all the label says is Infest Live 2/89, the J card also adds "Los Angeles" but that's it. Anyone with more info, please share! This is the first set on the tape. Look at that setlist, all bangers. Of course all Infest sets would be filled with nothing but bangers because they had so many great tunes. Anyhoo, recorded by someone in the crowd, so ya can feel like you are right there in the mix from the comfort of your home! - DH
This is the oldest NEUROSIS live recording I have, so far at least. This was pre records, you can hear them advertise their demo for sale at the end of the recording. What a setlist! All Pain Of Mind material and a very rare live recording of "Faith Or Fraud" from the demo. Whoever recorded this, which may have been Chris D, THANK YOU. This rules. - DH
NEUROSIS - August 2nd, 1986 @ New Method, Emeryville, CA
I'm editing in this text and a fresh rip of this powerhouse set from the mighty BLACK FLAG. It's not amazing on the sound quality end of things, but it could be worse, and it's worth the listen just for the fact that they pretty much play everything it seems. It's a 93 minute set, and has to be the longest set I've seen from them by far, especially for this time period. They must've been feeling it tonight to want to keep on playing this long. It certainly comes through on the tape, the band seems on fire. Anyhoo, enjoy this new rip! - DH
BLACK FLAG - December 10th, 1982 @ Ukrainian Cultural Center, Hollywood, CA
Editing in this fresh rip of the SNFU set recorded at WUST Hall in Washington DC. This is a soundboard recording, and while it has some issues, such as several minutes towards the beginning being muffled, it's overall a fairly fun listen. Perhaps I'll come across a cleaner copy, but for now this is it. - DH
