ANTIDOTE - November 26th, 1983 - Washington DC [AUDIENCE]

ANTIDOTE!  A classic staple of early NYHC, from a time period when their local peers would have been bands like Cause For Alarm, Reagan Youth, Urban Waste, and many others.  What a time to have been in that scene and seeing these shows!  So glad someone recorded this, as they only released a single 7" and some demos (ain't gonna bother counting the metal releases from when they reformed in the late 80's).  There's just not much out there, though a few sets have wound up on some re-releases and the Grand Theft Audio CD.

So this show was recorded in Washington DC by someone out in the audience.  It's noisy and heavy and punk as fuck.  I don't know anything else about it, what venue, who played, or anything.  Not even the setlist.  If I do get anything I'll be sure to edit it into this post.  For now, just play loud!    DH

THE FAITH - April 29th, 1983 @ WMUC, College Park, MD [FM]

THE FAITH live on the air, broadcast by  WMUC, a college radio station in College Park, Maryland, just outside of Washington D.C..  It was a bit loud and overdriven, and decided to not mess with it and keep it as is.  I think it sounds pretty killer and raw for what it is.  I don't have much to say about this, but play it loud like I am right now  - DH

SWIZ - April 1988 @ St John's Cathedral, Washington DC [AUDIENCE]

Here's a very rough sounding live audio recording from SWIZ, live in Washington DC in 1988.  I think it's incomplete as well.  Not great sounding but I like Swiz so it gets the occasional play by me, if you have my level of tolerance for rough live tapes, perhaps you'll enjoy this as well...   - DH

JAWBOX - November 2nd, 1989 @ BBQ Iguana, Washington DC [AUDIENCE]

Here we go with a very early days live set from JAWBOX. I knew when I saw this tape that I was gonna have to digitize this one pretty much as quick as I can.  I liked them a lot in the early 90's, but even after all these decades, I don't think I have anything live from them at all, and that's a shame.  So I got this tape in a lot and was stoked to see it on the B side of a live Scream tape.  Heck yeah!  Thanks to whoever had the foresight to record this way back then!  - DH

FUGAZI - January 27th, 1990 @ St Augustine's School, Washington D.C. [AUDIENCE]

Here's a FUGAZI set that doesn't appear to be uploaded to their archive, yet at least.  Pretty understandable as this is a rough sounding audience recorded tape.  But I love shit like that, so here it is, at least until they post it.  I did do some EQ'ing of this and even just spending 5 minutes on it made it sound a lot better than what there was originally.  So yeah, of course this i a great set.  It's Fugazi in 1990 on their home turf.  If you like Fugazi, and can hang with audience sourced tapes, then this is a must have.  Enjoy!   - DH

SNFU - January 16th, 1987 @ WUST Hall, Washington D.C. [SOUNDBOARD]

Editing in this fresh rip of the SNFU set recorded at WUST Hall in Washington DC.  This is a soundboard recording, and while it has some issues, such as several minutes towards the beginning being muffled, it's overall a fairly fun listen.  Perhaps I'll come across a cleaner copy, but for now this is it.  - DH
