DEAD KENNEDYS - June 28th, 1981 @ The Keystone, Berkeley, CA [FM]

Another banger of a set from DEAD KENNEDYS, live in Berkeley, CA in 1981! Not gonna waste time writing much about this, as anyone clicking on this knows it's gonna be rad as hell.  A killer recording too, broadcast over the radio, though I'm not sure which station aired it.  Bless their hearts for doing it though, and for the person who recorded it as well.    - DH

7 SECONDS - Socially Fucked Up - 1981 Demo

Right on, this is something I'm pretty excited about, another 7 SECONDS demo, this time it's "Socially Fucked Up" from 1981.  I was only familiar with the basic 7 Seconds albums and EPs, and one of the demos, then I got a few of these others that I've posted here and each one has been totally awesome, I can't believe I hadn't bothered looking these up before.  Then again, I like 7 Seconds a lot, but I'm no completist.  It's possible these appear on some reissue or other release, I have no idea.  A quick search through Discogs makes me think they are not available widely.  Well, for those like me that hadn't heard this before, here ya go.  Early days 7 Seconds!    - DH

DEAD KENNEDYS - March 29th, 1981 @ Whiskey-A-Go-Go, Hollywood, CA [AUDIENCE]

DEAD KENNEYS!  Live in 1981 at the Whiskey A Go Go in Hollywood, CA by some clearly sexy and intelligent person!  It's an audience recording, so has a few flaws, but I still really dig this one.  It's from 1981 which to me could be peak DK.  I like all DK generally, but these first 3 years are absolutely bangers in terms of setlists.  And in 1981 seems like they had bigger audiences, but maybe not quite as filled by knuckleheads as later shows seemed to be.  Or at least, Jello doesn't seem to be in as much contempt towards them as he would be in the last few years of DKs.  So yeah, lots of energy and a setlist full of heaters, this one is a keeper.
